Musician Showcase: Donnie Satterwhite

Donnie Satterwhite has been my friend and musical collaborator for over 40 years. His reputation for versatility, taste, professionalism, and creativity are known by all who have had the pleasure of performing with him in the studio and on stage…

I have always enjoyed and respected his ability to not only be in the moment, but to serve each song he plays with a depth and awareness that comes from a lifetime of quality playing over several genres and with several instruments.

Donnie has been a member of several popular groups: White Acre, The Herndon-Edwards Band, the duo of Jim Cootes and Donnie Satterwhite, The Illeagles, The High Energy Acoustics Band, and (currently) The Guava Jam Band.

When playing and/or recording my original songs, his Pedal Steel Guitar has been the mainstay. But his creative piano, banjo, and Prophet 5 synthesizer sound effects tracks have helped to set the atmosphere on many occasions and on many albums.

When I revisit these moments and sessions, I remember the great music...and the fun...that have been the essence of our collaborations. I look forward to many more great years of making music with him.
